UNTIL WE CAN TRAVEL AGAIN

Coronavirus are a large family of viruses that get their name from the halo of spiked proteins on their outer surface which resemble a crown the corona under microscope. As a new virus, it means that previously no one it the world has been infected with it and therefore no one has antibodies and because no one has antibodies, everyone is at risk for catching the virus, becoming ill and spreading the virus.

The question is, How big is the damage to the tourism industry? Especially in our country, Philippines. What is the status of the Tourism sector during the corona virus pandemic? The tourism sector is one of the hardest state sector joining this pandemic. At that time that we we're in the middle of the lockdown, tourism cannot find the light at the end of the tunnel because tourism is indeed one of the most important career not just in the Philippines, but in the World.

Before the pandemic happened, in 2018 people that are employed are close to 5.4 million in tourism and in 2019, 5.7 million people have been employed, and with regards with the tourist arrivals, in 2018 we have 7.1 million tourist and in 2019, we already have 8.2 million foreign tourists. Domestic tourism is the most strongest one in our tourism because Filipinos love travelling all over the country. Imagine how many people are affected and how big the impact of pandemic that is still happening right now in the sector of tourism. It was a shortfall.

All the air travel has been banned, businesses are all close, tourism attractions or destinations has been closed because of the restrictions and high level of chances of physical contact and possible chances of catching the virus. Although we little by little recovering from that lockdown, seems like the seecond wave of it is already happening because of the sudden spike and doubling of numbers of the positive cases everyday that we cannot prevent from happening because of the physical contacts.

This sector is really contributing to our economy providing jobs to people.  Sadly the Tourism has been hit and fallen up to 70%.  But there's already hope because As for now, as the Philippines embraces the 'New Normal', tourism industry can bounce back and hopefully as time goes by, we can freely travel again without wearing the personal protective equipments and ofcourse without worrying we might catch a virus. Soonest, everything will be alright. Let's hope for the best, and let's all walk and travel in a road filled with success and find happiness along the way.

Again, Naimbag Nga Aldaw Kadakayo Amin Apo, Let's all be safe!
